What I learned is that the Indians were able to make way for a better life for us by showing us how to survive, of course this only happened once we had made peace with them. The Indians are an important part of our states history because they helped us in so many ways, and they were the first inhabitants of our beautiful area. Also, we have learned many things about the Indians culture by studying the artifacts found in our state, and by interviewing some of the remaining Indians that live on reservations throughout the state.
About diigo, the CBA, and others…
I really did not like diigo at all! Personally, I thought it was a bit of a waste of time because I never actually looked at my library. I thought that the feedback part wasn;t much of a help because I didn’t even figure out how to send an email until like the last day. I didn’t even know we had an email on the wiki!!!! But about my project….. It was ok, but I think we could have made it a bit different. And when Mr. Talmadge told us which religion to study on the first day, I noticed that a bunch of people, including myself, just wrote our reports on the religion we had been assigned. The dbest part of my project was probabyly my paragraph where we had to write about the group and person impacted. I think that in writing that we had to kind of research more and actually use our heads. And I also had more info in that paragraph and I feel that it was better written than my other ones. If I were to change something it would be the way we had to write. With the part where we had the heading and then our paragraohs. I’m fairly sure that it was supposed to be more like a report or essay, but by having it all seperated it felt more like we were answering a couple questions on a worksheet.
About changing the process we used, I think it would be more of a test of our skills if we only had access to a text book or maybe a few select websites. In the way we had it, we could have been using a website with fake info with out ever knowing it! And the feedback part was kind of weird because i was getting emails from people that I don’t know if I have ever even met! It was weird, and then I had to try and guess what period they were in if I was going to read their report and give them feedback on it.
Also, and sorry if I’ve been really negative about the whole thing, but I just really didn’t like using wiki to type up our stuff. I would much rather spend time on word instead of wiki because workd is just so much less confusing than wiki is.

If you’re going to live on the Arabian Peninsula in 600 C.E. there are a few things you should know. In this paragraph you will find out ten helpful tips for living large on the Arabian Peninsula.
If you live in the deserts you should probably make sure that you have some wispy or loose clothing and a cotton headdress, to make sure that you don’t get sand in your mouth, ears, eyes and so on. It will also make sure that you wont get a sunburn. You may also want to make sure that you trade with any other caravans that you pass so as to gain more food and such. And last you might like to take along camels or goats so that you can get milk, cheese, yogurt, and meat along the way.
When you’re staying in an oasis you’ll want to make sure that you dig some deep wells to obtain more water for your crops, herds, and yourself. Then you will also want to grow palm date trees. These will help you get food from the fruit, and you can also use the bark for houses, the leaves for thatch roofs, and the hollowed out trunks for irrigation systems.
If you’re in the mountains there are a few things you should know. One is that you should use a terrace to help conserve water when you are farming. You should probably try to grow fruits and vegetables in your terraces so that you can live a healthy life. Oh, and make sure that you have herds of cattle or some kind of live stock so that you can get some meat.
And last, in the coastal plain you should probably make sure you bulid dams so that the ocean waters don’t flood your village or town. And because you can’t drink sea water you need to be able to save rain water. The best way to do this is by storing it in leather bags, sometimes under ground to keep it cold and fresh.
If you follow these ten tips, you should be able to live pretty nicely on the Arabian Peninsula.

Dear Mom and Dad,
The first trimester of 7th grade has gone very well for me. I have learned a lot in each of my classes. For example, in science I learned a lot about the Grand Canyon, the rock cycle and so forth. In math, I have learned how to do many things such as inequalities, scientific notation, and coordinate planes. During social studies, I learned about the Middle Ages and the roles of people living during the medieval times. I also learned about the Roman Empire and am currently learning about the Byzantine Empire. Last, in L.A. I have learned how to write better paragraphs using a certain outline. We have also learned to understand short stories and connect them to other stories. It kind of helped that I played sports for awhile, because I liked those sports a lot and knew that if I let my grades drop I wouldn’t be alowed to play those sports until my grades went back up. So I worked hard to keep my grades up. Overall, I think I have done very well during this first trimester at SMS.

This week I learned quite a bit about the Pantheon, Roman Artists, and leperosy. I mean, who knew that the Pantheon that stands now is a replica of the original. The first Pantheon was desrtoyed in a great fire in 80 AD and then was rebulit in 125 AD. And i learned a lot just by reading mr friends’ pages on wikispaces.com. It is very easy to learn quite a bit about stuff just by reading something that a friend posted.

I think that we shouldn’t have to wear PE uniforms. For one thing, they are very ugly. Not a girls first choice of what to wear. Second, its a bit of a hassle to remember it every day and then to get it cleaned every weekend. And it takes a bit to change. I think we should be able to bring shorts and t shirts of our choice from home. as long as they comply with the school dress code.
